I was over the moon to find a service where my pampered dog was going to get that love and attention that he gets at home. Knowing he was with a family instead of locked up in a cage was such a relief. I utterly enjoyed my holiday having the peace of mind that he was in good hands. Our minder was wonderful, and gave our dog extra treats, walks every day and cuddles I'd definitely use your service again and have already referred a friend to you thanks again for going the extra mile. We were a little concerned at the start as we never have tried this service but we were reassured several times by Frances that our dog Sammy will be looked after very well and true enough he was . He was happy when we left him and happy when we picked him up.We wouldn't hesitate to use Top Dog Minders again in the future.

Beverley is an experienced dog minder who also understands what owners expect of a dog minder, as opposed to the kennel experience. She did a great job looking after a couple of whippets who tend to go off their food and fret when we leave them in a new environment.
Beverley was a great match for our whippets. She provided a safe, caring home for them while we were away and walked them twice daily. Our dogs usually go off their food when we leave them but Beverley had no trouble keeping them eating. They were bright-eyed and happy on our return and slotted back into routine with us as if nothing had happened - no small achievement for our two sensitive and spoilt sighthounds. |

It was quick and easy booking through TopDog Minders….one email and all was arranged.We have used Jenny on two other occasions and have been extremely happy with her.
Chopper, our very spoilt greyhound, was beside himself as we pulled into Jenny’s driveway. He had obviously remembered her and her dogs and was so excited to be back. This was the third time we had Jenny as our minder. It is very reassuring to know your dog is going to be happy and secure when you go away on holidays. Would definitely leave Bella with Linda again...a wonderful family who loved little Bella like their own...being a 3 month old puppy I was concerned at leaving her but the situation that presented itself left me with no other option. Bella settled in very well with Linda and it was so nice for me to know that she was so well looked after I need not have been concerned at all, I did text a few times just to check.. So will be recommending Top Dog Minders to all my friends.

"I used Top Dog Minders to take care of my aged dog for a month when we went overseas. I can't praise them and the carer they found for me enough! From the time they took my call asking for help till the time I finally picked my dog, I was totally happy with how my pet was taken care of..I was a bit concerned about how they will take care of an aged dog who needed assistance but I was more than impressed by how their carer Linda took care of him. In fact, my dog is missing Linda so much now that I am considering taking him to see her again! I will wholeheartedly recommend Top Dog Minders to anyone"

Top Dog found a minder in my area for my dog during the busy Xmas/New Year period at only 2 week's notice. Rick was happy to have my old, (18 years) dog sleep inside, and accepted that my dog would need 'reminders' to go to the toilet, and was happy to give his arthritis tablet and medicine, which he had not been expecting as they were only prescribed just before the holiday.

My dog minders were a lovely couple and I was so pleased with how they cared for my dog Minnie Mouse! Keith and Gail were very friendly and Buddy was immediately happy when we dropped him off. They treated him as if he were their own. He had free run of the house and garden. When he became scared of the fireworks on New Year’s Eve they made sure he was safe inside. When we picked him up he was happy to see us but was quiet relaxed and not in a hurry to leave.

Lisa and Warren were very nice and, it was a tough time for them as they had just lost a very important family member, both Lisa and Warren welcomed myself and Escher in to their home. Escher came home very content and happy.

We are extremely happy that our slightly precious dog could be looked after (in a spoilt manner) as we look after her. A kennel could not make our Pepper happy. She hates dogs. Top Dog found gorgeous Minders (Sanjay and Shivani) who could fit in with our dog’s needs. They love dogs, but they didn’t have any of their own. They welcomed Pepper into their home, and treated her like one of the family. That’s all Pepper wants, and she loved her stay with her Minders. No dramas, no major hiccups to her way of life. Thanks very much for organising this for me. I would like to say special thanks for giving me Beverley as a dog sitter. From the moment we chatted on the phone she put me at ease about leaving my dog whilst going away (esp after she had just had an operation on her leg). When we arrived she made sure she knew everything about how to care for her best, and then sent a text to let me know that she was happy later that day. When we arrived to collect her, Bella was the most happy and settled dog in the world considering we had only been gone 2 days. Beverley had put extra bedding in her cage too as she wanted to give her extra padding for her bad leg. Really a wonderful lady and I could see that she really cared for my dog as if it were her own.

I was very impressed you were able to house my boy at such short notice. My personal circumstances were a little convoluted at the time and having you find a place so quickly really took a load off my mind. I know it's a little bit a matter of chance, but you came through for me and that was wonderful. I was so pleased with Lynn I would explicitly ask for her again. Yes, I was very satisfied with my Minder, Sarah. She is absolutely wonderful with Polo and Polo felt very comfortable at Sarah’s home. In fact, he was not scrambling to get into the car when I went to fetch him, like he used to with the boarding kennel. The staff, Zoe, is also very helpful and did the follow up on a timely basis.

.. the booking and payment system was easy, Chelcey was very helpful - and Anne was just wonderful. She is obviously a 'dog' person and we felt very comfortable leaving our dogs with her. The dogs were obviously very happy staying with her, and showed no signs of anxiety at all - in fact I think they enjoyed their stay very much. Faye is a wonderful lady and my two little dogs were so happy, content and calm when I collected them. I was a little nervous about leaving them, particularly Ollie as he suffers from a little bit of anxiety – but he was fine, they were really well behaved for me when I got them home too which I tend to find they would generally muck up a bit after I have left them.

Diane was fabulous, Billy can take a while to settle around other dogs, but with Diane and Les there he settled in really well (so well, in fact, that he tried to take over the house!). I'll be requesting Diane in the future.
In terms of the TopDog staff, everyone I dealt with was really helpful and efficient - I was only able to give 2 weeks notice (as my dates for going away changed 2 weeks before I was due to go!) and everyone I dealt with (Zoe, Linda and Nicole) were very accommodating and kept in contact. Linda |

Thanks so much for matching our dog Tilly up with Tina and Monica. We can tell she gets spoiled as much at their place as she does at home!
Tilly was adopted from an animal shelter and has some separation anxiety issues so we couldn't imagine sending her to Boarding Kennels when we go away - she just wouldn't cope. At Tina and Monica's place she's treated as a member of the family, gets plenty of attention and it's obvious she feels at home there. We can relax when we go away, knowing that she's safe and happy.

Patricia in Fawkner is excellent. I've used her 2 or 3 times now and she just loves dogs and my dog loves her. He gets walked, fed treats and taken out in the car visiting when he's there for the day. When I collect him she tells me how his day has been. Tyson is very much at home at her house and is in no hurry to come home when I collect him. Its lovely to know he's getting such good care whilst I'm at work and I can concentrate at work and not worry that he's escaping the yard at home.

I would like to congratulate you on a first class dog minding service! We left our "babies", golden retrievers Wilson & Belle, with Sue in
Scoresby, from 22/9/07 to 1/10/07, Sue & her children obviously loved them and we will certainly ask for Sue
next time we have a holiday. In fact, Wilson & Belle really missed all the extra cuddles Sue's 4 children

Hi Wendy, Our dogs - Molly & Bear - have just spent the weekend with Chelsea & Robert in Knoxville. When we met with them initially I was impressed by their gentle, friendly, laid-back approach. However, I was still a bit apprehensive about leaving our 'kids' with anyone. When we picked them up today they weren't too fussed to see us, they looked happy & were totally exhaused from running in the big backyard - and they gave Chelsea kisses goodbye. (Apparently Molly fell in love with Robert over the weekend too !) Just a quick note to tell you how happy we were with TopDog for looking after our two dogs Tess and Tassie. We have always had troubles getting away on holidays. Because of a lack of confidence in kennels but your at-home dog sitting service is something totally different - it it terrific. Andrea at Scoresby treated our dogs as least as well we would; they had a warm dry bed inside her home and they were exercised reguarly. Your service is highly recommended - thanks very much. |

Nadine Lyford My dogs have never stayed in a kennel – they’ve always had someone come and stay with them when we’ve gone away. When our usual person wasn’t available, with misgivings, I started to look at what boarding kennels were available and was very pleased when I came across the Top Dog Minder website. Ann Skelt I have had my Siberian Huskies stay with Top Dog's minders three times now. I didn't want to leave them in a kennel when I went away and I am so glad I never had to. The minders are awesome! One even let my girls sleep on their bed with them! I would never contemplate using a kennel now I know there are much better places for a dog to stay - another dog lover's house. Now when ever I hear someone talking about the stress leaving a dog in a kennel I suggest they check out Top Dog instead. Leaving my furkids alone is stressful enough, at least with Top Dog some of that stress is relieved because I know that the girls are in another warm and friendly home where they can have cuddles when ever they need them! |

We very much appreciated the personal approach and care of the minder. Another, major, advantage is the minder being located close to our home (don’t have to travel across greater Melbourne). Although we had only one experience, it was very positive. Brammie, our dog, is very close to us and he was a bit homesick at his first day (according to the minder). However, the minder was able to quickly convince him he was in her good hands and both the minder and the dog enjoyed their company. |

Lynda Roach Just writing to say how pleased we were with the way our 2 fur kids were treated by the Hewitt's. It took a while to get them in the car when we picked them up as they seemed reluctant to leave - obviously a sign they were very happy there. Mojo can be very boisterous and Sian (being and ex-rescue dog) does have some behavioural issues but the Hewitts handled both dogs with confidence and gave my partner and I peace of mind while we were on holiday. They were keen to know all about the dogs' routine and food on the first visit which reassured me they would look after them just as we would. Both dogs just slept for hours when they got home - very unusual for 2 border collies!!
Very happy with the service both yourselves and the Hewitts provided and will definitely use again and recommend to others. |

Kimberley Pantelis Just wanted to let you know that our entire family had a wonderful holiday and we feel Minko had the BEST TIME. We think she is suffering withdrawal, all joking aside we could not be happier with the service and attention that was bestowed upon Minko by Heather. She really knows how to look after dogs and gets to know them very well. Minko was trim taught and terrific. We are not so sure about how happy she is to be one of the big pack at present as she is not getting enough attention but she did LOVE staying at Heather's. My dog’s welfare. She is a laid-back dog, but I needed to know she’d be in a safe environment and happy while I was away, otherwise I would’ve been fretting about her.
Q. In light of your experience, would you use us again and would you recommend us to others ?
Yes, I would use this service again. It’s a lot better than placing your dog into the kennels. Just the fact that Brie was around people and other pets, she would’ve been right in her element!
Q. Do you have any other suggestions you would like to add ?
Heather was really good and I felt comfortable leaving Brie with her. Heather gave Brie a bath before she came home and when my husband went to pick her up, she was racing around quite happily which is the best sign ever. Could you please pass on my thanks |

Finding someone who would give my dog the love and attention she needs. Also needed to trust that she would be well treated generally (hard to know when you’ve never met the person before!)
Q. In light of your experience, would you use us again and would you recommend us to others ? Yes, definitely. Guinness was clearly very happy with her minders and they had obviously bonded with her. It was clear that they were very affectionate dog lovers. In fact she probably got more exercise and attention than she does at home! I will be using them again! And arranging the whole thing was easy. |

I just want to add that Tracey was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. When Bella arrived from NZ she had a problem with her eyes, Tracey was happy for the Vet to come and was able to get rid of the problem. I would recommend her to anyone – she clearly loved our dog and it was wonderful to know Bella was being cared for so well. Probably better than normal at our house!!! |

Jacinda Hunt I went away at the last minute and all of the kennels were booked out – so I tried Top Dog and was lucky enough to get something. Now that I have used Top Dog – I won’t go back to a kennel as I really liked the concept of my dog being in a home rather than a kennel. She almost didn’t want to come home, she had so much fun! Most certainly, my dog is booked in again later in the year. Having had my dog in care previously and came home to a welcome of 20 minutes of yelping and barking, on this occasion with Top Dog, he greeted me with a cursory “oh your back, hi, got to go play now” which told me all I needed to know, he was happy and had been well looked after, he obviously felt he was in a second home, this made me feel very happy about going and leaving him without any guilt.
Q. Do you have any other thoughts you would like to add ?
Only to say that Wendy and Kirstin did all they could to help me deal with a paranoid new “doggy daddy” who was more of a problem than it was finding a carer for my dog, but they understood and were very patient with us. In the end, their original choice was the right one!!

Safe, caring, accessible (no day trips to the country to drop off or pick up when rushing to pack for family holidays). Our dog is young and needs contact with people and stimulation.

Jennifer Rice We are back from our holiday. Collected Murphy from Lynn Hewitt and her family - they were great - Murphy loved the whole family, so we were really pleased. Kylie Duncan I would like to thank you very, very much for the service that your company provides. I have not had our dogs looked after by anyone other than family, and this is the first time they were not looked after at our house, so it was quite stressful for me. Allison was absolutely wonderful, and the dogs loved her, which made me feel so much better. I was not very keen on leaving the pair of them in a shelter or kennel, so having them looked after at someone's house, without 50 other dogs really eased my mind.

Sandra Thompson I wanted to feel confident that Wallace wouldn't be stuck in a cage with no stimulation for ten days. When I heard that your minders kept dogs inside their homes, I could enjoy my holiday without feeling guilty about leaving the poor dog in a kennel.
Wallace was left in a kennel once before and was obviously traumatised when I picked him up, this time, however, he was his happy playful self after time with Beryl.
Now I intend to use your service EVERY time we go away.

Mel North I was concerned about my dog not getting proper care and attention. We had a bad experience in Perth with a Kennel, and I didnt want to go through that again. The concept of Topdog Minders, with our pet staying with a family in a family environment, really reassured us. I've told everyone in Perth about the business. I know of many people who will be using you there. Pam and Ray in Cheltenham have been great regular sitters of my dog Cooper. I will miss them and their care for our dog when we return home to Perth. |

Monty arrived in London in perfect health and it was obvious to me that he had been very well treated whilst in the care of Sue for the time I was relocating to Ireland. Sue did an exception job and I was very appreciative that she sent through regular updates emails (including photos) on how Monty was going - I would certainly recommend TopDog Minders to anyone who does not like the thought of putting their loved canine companion in kennels for any period of time.

Lina Gilvarry Just wanted to send a quick note to say thanks. Lilly (our 12 month old Lab) was recently looked after by Sharon Ericksen and we just wanted to extend our appreciation and thanks. As predicted Sharon, (and her gorgeous 16 yr old Lab Culdi) were fabulous with Lilly. This was Lilly's first time away from us and needless to say she was very spoilt and appeared to have had a wonderful time. Kiet Van-Pohl I would like to take the opportunity to thank Andrea for looking after ‘Ben’ for me.
As she found out that not only Ben was an exRSPCA dog but a dog has ‘low self-esteem’!!!!! Ben must have had an abusive past but slowly has develop confidence and love through myself. Having said all that, I would like to express my confidence with having Andrea look after Ben. Although she looks after a few dogs at once, nevertheless, I was surprised to ring her from Phillip Island that Ben had been ‘sleeping’ with Andrea in comfort….. He must have really trusted her and felt at home with Andrea. Not only does Andrea knows how to make dogs comfortable, but she also gave me quite a lot of advise especially for a slightly timid dog like Ben. In all, I would like to thank Andrea for her time and care for Ben and would recommend anyone to her. |

Kelly Rohan I just wanted to say a BIG BIG BIG thank you to you and Kirsten for coming to my rescue. As you know Kishma attempted to escape from Boarding Kennels which resulted in a severely injured foot that required 24hour supervision whilst it healed. As both Dan and I work full time we were in a jam. Angel Kirsten to the rescue. She is is amazing, I work long hours and travel frequently interstate, Dan does shift work. Kirsten fitted in around us, nothing was a drama or a problem and the ability to drop kish off in the morning and pick her up at night was fantastic. She even had the odd Sleep over. I felt like a real mum with a child in day care. On top of this Kirsten even washed her for me!! What can I say about Kirsten other than she is a rare gem. I deal in a fast paced hectic aggressive IT industry and I tell you what we could all take a leaf out of Kirstens book on exceptional customer service and flexibility. Her smiley face and “Can do” attitude made the whole experience so easy. Kishma got to know where she was going everyday and bounded into the car. I wish there was more people on this earth like Kirsten, she is a wonderful human being. Kishma most definatley will be back, My other dog Charlie is jealous off her outings we have had to give him treats as we felt guilty.

Graham Peters and Judy Edmonds We thought you would like to know how pleased we were at the care Sirius enjoyed whilst we were away. Carolyn (in Balwyn) cared for Sirius as if she was their own dog, including small snacks of veal schnitzel. She clearly had a wonderful time. In fact she had played so hard with the Carolyn's dog, Hudson, that when she returned home, she had to mind a sofa for 24 hours to sleep off all the activity. Rather amusingly, this involved much REM sleep with generous bouts of tail-wagging - happy dreams! Many thanks for the superb service. |

Jennie & Wayne Everything went really well with Chelcey and Rob. Akeetah returned home a lot healthier then when she left - having been walked every day. Even the neighbours commented on how good she looked. I was really pleased with the service and have been telling EVERYONE about it. Garry M I have been taking Chelsea to Pat & Lorna's place in East Bentleigh for occassional day care since she was three months old. Sitting at home in the garden each day from early in the morning until the evening can sometimes be boring for a young active dog. Not to mention being outside on 35 degree plus days!
Chelsea is always excited when we arrive at Pat & Lorna's house as she knows she will spend the day being as well cared for as if she had been home with me. I have also found that Chelsea is more settled in the evenings after having spent the day in the company of other playful dogs. Going on occassional day care should also assist in a smooth transition with arrangements when I go on holidays." |
